Snow!

So, we got snow! There was no school or work for us today - our first snow day! It was a lot of fun...at first. It started snowing around noon on Sunday and continued for about 5 hours, solid. It came down thick - there were huge snowflakes! Then for the next 4 hours it flipped between sleet and snow. I just heard on the news that our area got around 6 inches - wow! The not so fun part was losing power for about 23 hours. This was very frustrating because I had the bright idea to cook a chicken and a roast in crockpots (to have meals for the week), both which were only partially cooked when the power went out. See if I do that again - ha! The other not fun part, which we know all about in FL, is losing most of what was in my fridge. Rich did venture out this morning and brought back some ice, so we packed the freezer with that. Overall (now that the power is back on) it was fun. AND, as you can see in the pictures, Rich's cunnerman blood kicked in and he built a makeshift wood stove for me today, so that I could finish cooking what I started yesterday. Fun times!Kalee's friend Emma came over to play - we were pretty sure that we weren't going to get snow - it had rained all morning. Rich had to run by Emma's house to get play clothes, after the snow started! The covered bridgeCunnerman spirit...in true form!We decided that we had better start saving water - luckily we didn't have to use all that we saved! S'mores...after the hot dogs, of course! Perfect fire cooked foods!
Kalee, warming her frozen feet!
