Almost ready...

We are getting really close to move in day! The carpet went in today - we are really happy with it! We had some issues with the original carpet company and ended up buying it from Home Depot. They installed it today and it looks great. The wood floors were finished late last week. We really like them, too! The picture isn't the greatest, since there were people walking all over it all day with dirty feet, but you get the idea! We also started cleaning tonight and we are almost done, so that is good! I guess I should start packing some boxes!!!

Spring is here!

Growing up in Florida you don't really realize that seasons actually exist. There is comfortable, hot and hotter (and the comfortable only lasts for a month or so!) Anyway, I am really enjoying the change in seasons. Winter was wonderful, but we are glad that spring is here! Kalee was ready to go swimming this weekend, but the community pools don't open until Memorial Day weekend (what?!), so we bought a kiddie pool. Not quite the same, but it'll work!

Also, in these pictures you can see Kalee's nicely scraped up knee!

The driveway is complete!

And we love it! Kalee is really enjoying riding her bike and scooter on it - although she has already taken her first tumble after coming down the hill in our driveway - in typical Kalee style, of course (I almost thought Uncle Stevie was here!)It looks so good!!!My parents and aunt and uncle decided to have their part of the driveway paved too - nice! No more gravel anywhere! (We had to pave from the road to the end of our property line - per code)

Baseball starts...finally!

Kalee's first 2 baseball games were rained out so we finally just had her first game last Saturday. She is doing pretty good! She is on a baseball team this year - not softball - because there weren't enough girls in her age group to form enough teams. Anyway, we weren't too excited about it in the beginning, but being on a team with all boys (and 1 other girl) is good for Kalee - she likes to show them up. Fun times!

Kalee's 1st grade program

Kalee's 1st grade program was tonight and the theme was the ocean. Kalee was super cute, as usual, in her beach attire!

Better Landscaping Pics

We have recovered, a little, from our marathon weekend of landscaping! I realized I really didn't get the best pics, so I took some while we were out watering everything this evening. It looks soooo good and we are so appreciative to Crystal and Kelly for giving up their weekend to work in our new yard. My dad helped us out, too (we are keeping him young - ha!) and my mom had the tough, tough job of keeping Charley.

They put the shutters on today - around the wrong windows. So...that means that we will now get free shutters for the other 3 windows!

Here is the little bit of concrete that we were able to get with the amount the builder had in the budget - not much! We have decided to spend some extra money and asphalt the rest of the driveway. I'm not excited about spending the money but I AM excited that I will have a clean car - no more gravel!

We need to get a decorative pot - or something - to put some annual flowers in. That will go in the spot where there is none of the decorative grass. The azalea's are beautiful! We didn't get enough sod to finish the back yard. We are going to get more, once we move in.
The 3 Charlie Brown Christmas trees! Actually, these will grow to be huge and fluffy - Rich assures me these will be my favorite trees!
You can't really tell, but in the far left hand side of the picture there is a horse...there are 4 or 5 horses in the pasture across the street. Kalee and I are looking forward to feeding them carrots, once we move in!

The only trees that did not get planted are the 10 cherry trees that will line the driveway.

Happy Easter!

Kalee and Charley went to church with my parents this morning, while the rest of us worked in the yard. These 2 girls are just too cute!

A beautiful landscape and sunburn!!!

It was a beautiful day to work in the yard! The temp was 68 degrees and there was a nice breeze all day...BUT it was so nice that none of us realized that we were getting sunburned!! That should be nice for tomorrow! ANYWAY, on to important things! The landscaping looks GREAT! Crystal did a fabulous job with the design and the choice of plants - we love them. We got a lot done today. I took this video last night, while we were waiting for the dumptruck to come with our dirt!

We've got power!!!

The permanent power has been hooked up. They will be back out tomorrow morning to finalize all the connections and the A/C should be on by mid morning! The concrete driveway (and I use that term loosely - we have just enough budgeted to have a pad off of the garage big enough for us to back out onto) will be poured tomorrow and the gravel might also be delivered. The landscaping is going to go in this weekend, courtesy of Rich, Crystal and Kelly!

Crystal was here earlier this week and she and Rich moved some boulders around and did some other prep work for the landscaping this weekend. The closet racks, door locks and handles and shower wall and door were all installed on Tuesday - everything looks really good!

Spoiled Rotten!!!

Kalee, my mom and I shopped until we dropped today! We marked almost everything off our list - towels, bathroom and kitchen rugs, sheets, blankets, towel racks, toilet paper holders, etc! Pictured below are the most exciting purchases of the day...at least for Kalee. She spotted this shower curtain a couple months ago - spoiled, spoiled, spoiled...that's all I can say! But I just can't help it!

Kalee's shower curtain and bath rug - she says it's "hot"!
Each of the dresses have an actual feather boa - I have to admit it is very cute, and also very fitting with my girl!
The matching shower curtain hooks! I wish I had a video camera when Kalee saw these hooks...the girl is a riot!
