Family Vacation with the Hanleys!

The Hanley's came up to see the house and Shellie helped me decorate a bit. We ran around like crazy for a day and a half - then we all packed up and headed up to Helen for a 2 day 3 night vacation. We had a great time...
This is the house that we rented - it was great!
Rich and I stayed in the loft bedroom...Rick and Shellie stayed in the room below - you can see the door in this pic.
The girls (Cierra and Caleigh, who are 15, Rachel, 11, and Kalee) had the bottom floor to themselves. The game room was on that floor, too, and Kalee was in heaven! The hot tub was also on the deck of this floor, which she loved almost as much as the game room!
Kalee wasn't too sure about this horse, in Helen. I LOVED his hat!
Kalee in the hot tub!
The loves of my life, in Helen.
Cierra and Caleigh
Shellie and I bought Crocs - we both said we would never buy crocs, but these aren't your normal crocs! Comfy!
Rich grillin' our dinner...
The hot tub. We had to limit the girls to 15 minutes on the last day, so that the adults would be able to get in AND have hot water, too!
Eating snow cones in Dahlonega. Notice it is only the girls who got snow cones...funny...
After Dahlonega we went to Amicalola Falls. This picture doesn't do the falls justice. From the top of this picture to where we were standing is 425 steps! My legs are still killing me - and we only walked down them! We followed a different trail out, instead of going back up the steps...Unfortunately, it led us to the wrong parking lot, so the boys hiked a mile back UP the mountain to get our cars while us girls waited in the wrong parking lot! Such love!
Rick and Shellie at the falls.
The fam...
While we were following the wrong trail out we came across this truck that appearantly fell down the side of the mountain many years ago...
After the falls we went gem mining - Kalee's favorite!
The girls, enjoying the ride home.
Rich and Rick went back into Helen on the last night to get some real german beer. Rich doesn't care for dark beer, and this one was really dark AND smelled like smoke.
Rich's reaction was priceless! He still doesn't like dark beer!
Roasting s'mores by the fire...yum!

And a little more...

I was spurred on to finish the fabric in the "extra" bedroom in the basement, since the Hanley's are coming this week and their oldest daughter, Cierra, is bringing a friend...and we didn't have enough room to sleep everyone upstairs. It looks really nice. I can't wait to put insulation in the ceiling and cover it with fabric, too.
We got the basement cleaned up/organized - now I just have to get Rich to move my foosball table down here from my parents basement! He's not in too much of a rush, though, because he always looses when we play!

Getting a little more done in the house...

In between all the wonderful company that we have had, and the trips we have taken, we have been able to get a few things done around here...Grammie T sewed Kalee's curtains while she was here - Kalee absolutely loves them and they look wonderful in her room! The cool pink beads that Kalee picked out to add to the bottom of the curtains...
I have finally painted the guest room...I like the color, but it isn't exactly what I was expecting! I tried to have Lowes match the paint to a pillow, but the pillow is "shimmery", so the color is a little off. WHATEVER! I have decided that I am completely over painting, so it will just have to work!
Eventually I am going to bring the Daybed up from the basement and put it in the spare room, along with a desk for Kalee, and move this bigger bed to the basement.

Mike, Liisa & Aaron come to visit!

Mike and Liisa were vacationing in South Carolina and decided to cut it a day short and head over to visit with us and Crystal - yay! We had a lot of fun - it was just too short of a visit!

Aaron was giving Charley a kiss...and minutes later he was tackling her! That's a boy for ya!This is the toy that Charley plays with whenever she comes to our house...so couldn't quite figure out why someone else was playing with her toy!Aaron helped Aunt Crystal pull some weeds. Such a sweet boy!Party at the kiddie pool!Mike and Aaron, with their new haircuts!Rich and Mike were working on our Cherry Trees. They are all dying, so Mike was helping Rich figure out what the problem was. Anyway, it was a little warm, so we decided the boys needed to cool off...This was after they were hosed. And of course, there is always payback...It was hot, so they didn't really mind cooling off!Kalee and Charley - just precious! We went to our local Ice Cream Parlour Friday night. Aaron enjoyed his chocolate ice cream!Kalee and Chase enjoyed their ice cream, as well! And Charley's picture speaks for itself! This morning Aaron was helping me water the grass! He just couldn't resist the water and ended up soaked, of course!Kalee and Chase played in the pool and the sprinkler this evening. Chase goes home tomorrow...we have had a great week with him and are going to miss him a LOT!
