Hunter is taking over...

So, we settled on the name Hunter. The only other option that Kalee could come up with was Spot...and we just couldn't do that!!! Anyway, he is doing well - only whined/howled for 3 nights or so, thank goodness, because that howl was fierce! Thankfully my grandma sleeps without her hearing aides, so we just let him howl away. He hasn't had any accidents in his crate and has only had 2 in the house - thankful for the concrete floors!!! He is very skiddish - just like Jade, which is a bummer, but we'll work on bringing him out of that and not encourage it like we did with Jade (so yes, no stare down contests, no submission holds, etc)! Jade is adjusting - I wouldn't say she likes him yet, but maybe soon! Daisy (my parents dog) absolutely hates him! She used to sneak down to the basement to play with Jade whenever someone left the stairway door open - now she won't come down at all. Pretty funny! The pics are of Jade's spot on the couch. Hunter tries to go lay with Jade but she will have none of it, so he has taken over her spot. And, instead of knocking him off, or laying with him, she hops up to the top of the couch.

Ah, Hunter is a fine name for a hound :) Has he howled for ya yet ? He is a good looking dog. I feel sorry for the old lady though ,she doesn't look to thrilled in her new position on the sofa . Anyhow , wishing you all many happy years together :)

We have a beagle, too. And she does the same things - she always wants to lay with our other dog, Bailey, and it drives Bailey crazy! But she will do it anyway. Beagles need so much love. It's so cute to watch her try to get attention from Bailey. We've had both of them for almost three years and they are still like that - they like each other more than they used to but our Bailey was first and sometimes still wants to be the one and only. That's what Drea's getting ready to feel like, huh!
